Another Week, Another Crazy

So, I’m getting ready for the Big “R”, and I feel like I’m on track to get things done. I’ve gone over the project plan and added tasks and checked off a couple of items. Woo Hoo!

I’ve re-worked my 2019 budget to, hopefully, be more realistic. Check.

I’ve been making a list of ‘stuff’ as I come across it and decide if it is going into the keep, sell or donate categories. Check.

Then BAM! A very young family member dies! Just eighteen years old and gone in the blink of an eye. Although I was not close to Christian, it knocked me for a loop.

Then Monday, was my sister’s birthday; Deb would have been 63. It was also the anniversary of her death; she died six years ago. Six years and I still miss her, which got me thinking about my plans for the future. I get to retire. Technically, she had already retired due to a disability. But she didn’t travel or party or have the fun I’m planning. Frankly, that sucks!

This week has left me a little shaky on the old home front and I’ve lost some momentum. But I know I will get back on track soon and continue with my plans and I’ll get to retire, and travel, and have fun and do all the things Deb didn’t get to do. I don’t even know if she would have wanted to do the things that I do, but you get my point.

As I go through the motions toward retirement, I want to plan for my future and I want to enjoy it for me, and for Deb, and for Christian, because they don’t get to retire.

I challenge every one of you to live today like it’s your last. Enjoy life for yourself and for all your loved ones who have already finished with theirs.
