So, 2017 has begun and unfortunately my disdain for the president-elect has only grown. The country is headed down the toilet, and the electoral college flushed. Aside from the fact that every single one of his picks to run the various agencies in his cabinet are the WORST POSSIBLE PEOPLE for the perspective positions, his idiocy seems to be increasing.
Add to that, under the ‘leadership’ of Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan, Congress has overwhelmingly drunk to stupid punch and are again seeking to end anything Obama. Never mind that they obstructed him in every way possible. And in spite of that, under the Obama Administration, millions more people are working today than when he took over the presidency. Unemployment figures are the lowest they have been in 30 years and 20 million more people are able to afford health insurance for the first time in their lives.
The mob mentality of ignorance may prevail, but long after the current stupidity ends, Barack Obama will still have succeeded over so many people whose only real objection to his success was the color of his skin.
I still find it interesting that people laud Christian values yet truly believe that the Trumps will bring ‘class’ to the White House. If your idea of class is a serial adulterer who openly advocates forcing himself on women and his wife who is slightly above a porn star, then your values leave a lot to be desired in my book.
Class is the Obamas being there to help the Trumps make a very difficult transition into a life for which they are not suited and certainly not prepared. Class is the Clintons showing up for the inauguration of an opponent who was more than nasty to them during the campaign. Class is being above the mentality of ignorance and intolerance. Unfortunately, ingorance, intolerance and tantrums are what we will undoubtably have to endure during the administration of the president-elect. Class…not so much.
